Environmental Field Technician - Temporary Seasonal

We are seeking a motivated individual currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a University or College program in engineering, environmental studies, or agriculture for a full time temporary seasonal position (May – August), with the possibility of extension.

The role requires fieldwork and office work. Fieldwork will largely involve sample and data collection, site assessments, and inspections. Office work may include organizational projects, assisting with research and report writing, and light office duties. The successful candidate must be self-driven and capable of working successfully on their own or part of a small team.

Qualifications:

  • Student or recent graduate of a University or College program in engineering, environmental studies, or agriculture

  • Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs for short distances

  • Comfort with working outside in a variety of conditions on a wide array of sites (commercial properties, active agricultural operations, etc.)

Assets:

  • Prior fieldwork or data collection experience

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, etc.

  • Experience with GIS or CAD programs

  • Eligibility for, or existing membership with, a professional designating body such as AIA or APEGA
